-----------------------------------

Olive oil will arrive on shelves that will certainly be more expensive! You're asking me why do not you? The President of the Agriculture Commission of the European Parliament, Paolo De Castro, man of our Earth, is committed to ensure that the extra virgin olive oil sold is genuine you can check the reading on the EU Official Journal L 23 / 1 of 27.01.2011 Reg (EC) No 61/2011 of the Commission of 24 January 2011 amending Regulation (EEC) No 2568/91 on the characteristics of olive oils and olive pomace oils and analytical methods of analysis.

------------------------------------

Analysis of the parameter of the methyl esters of fatty acids (MEAG) and ethyl esters of fatty acids (EEAG)

The main new feature - long awaited - is the introduction into the official method of analysis of the parameter of the methyl esters of fatty acids (MEAG) and ethyl esters of fatty acids (EEAG) who reveals the presence of deodorized oils in extra virgin olive oils currently marketed in the EU

Many times we wondered how it was possible that the shelves of large retail chains could buy a bottle of extra virgin less than two euros. These days you can buy at bargain prices extra virgin olive oil and we all know that to cultivate olive trees, harvest the olives and sottoprole a mechanical pressing and then bottling the oil costs more than the final price that is offered by large retailers organized. From April 1 this is no longer possible, because when the price of olive oil extra virgin is too low you may request checks to see if we are dealing with a fraud.

The official document of the International Olive Oil Council

We read on the official document of the International Olive Oil Council, "the use of the method is recommended as a means to differentiate olive oil by pressing and that obtained from olive pomace oil (sansa) and as a quality parameter for the oils extra virgin, as it allows to identify false blend oil and extra virgin olive oils of low quality and see if they are virgin oils, which are common, obvious or deodorized. "

The note of Paolo De Castro January 28, 2011

It said in a statement released by the European Parliament: "The EU Regulation on 24 January, we brought home an important result for both consumers and for our producers of extra virgin olive oil". Thus declared President of the Agriculture Commission of the European Parliament, Paolo De Castro. The issue is the increasingly widespread importation of cheap oil deodorized marketed as extra virgin olive oils, with the addition of a small amount of virgin olive oil, causing severe competitive effects with dramatic consequences for both producers and consumers alike. "A theme - continued De Castro - who had raised the question in the European Parliament on 13 December. Now, finally, as required, the EC Regulation 61/2011 has introduced a new method of analysis of the alkyl in the olive oil in order to resist this fraud. An important result that gives us satisfaction for the work being done by the Agriculture Committee of the European Parliament and at the same time, it bodes well for future battles of agricultural policy. Yet more evidence - concludes De Castro - that if we want to work effectively to the growth of our food system, for the enhancement of its specificity and for the protection of consumers, we must look to Europe not with suspicion and worry, but as an area of opportunities for our citizens and our businesses'

Conclusions

Lecce, Salento, land of the olive trees of the forest is a reality in harmony with Europe and represents a "single" from the global point of view. The men of Salento Lecce who are engaged in the institutions where they do their duty "in depth" as did Paolo De Castro get to the truth to prevail and to protect all. Paolo De Castro is a man of Salento Lecce who quietly and with great determination has forced the adoption of simple rules has protected the owners of the rural landscape of Salento Lecce that produce healthy olives from which to derive extra virgin quality, because these rules possible not to suffer unfair competition from the usual crafty speculators who profit by selling oil and pomace passing it off as extra virgin olive oil.

There are now conditions for producing high-quality oil without the worry of being subject to competition from fraud. It 'a great day for all owners of the rural landscape of Salento Lecce but it is a great day for you that you will have more certainty about what you eat.
